Ooh lovely - look how colour coordinated I was with my mat and block and even the eye pillow this morning in my new little Asquith ensemble. I love that colour I do really like their stuff, otherwise I would not be recommending them.

We hardly ever take the time to JUST rest any more. But it's so important. When the body is rested, it can draw from its immense capacity to heal itself.
Join me on Tuesday nights at the Goose Green Clinic in East Dulwich for restorative yoga.
What an incredible year it has been! 2013 has definitely been eventful and looking back I am really proud of what I have achieved. I did my advanced training in Thai Yoga Massage, which I have fallen even more in love with, and I now also train new practitioners. Together with Eden Mendel I successfully launched breathe & de-stress(and watch out, there is a lot more to come from this corner...). All together I ran 25 workshops this year and my first (sold out) yoga retreat. I taught yoga to a man in a shark suit and held a class on the big stage at the yoga show. And most recently also qualified as a Manual Lymphatic Drainage therapist. Oh yes, and I quit my day job in the summer as well! Quite a roller coaster of a year... It's been emotional, hard work, exciting, scary, overwhelming, rewarding, and brilliant. But one thing I know for sure: I could not have done it without you lot! Thank you for coming to my classes and workshops and what ever else I come up with, thank you for trusting me as a bodyworker, thank you for your continued support and sharing my passion, thank you for teaching me so much!
So now I guess it's time to look forward to 2014! As I hinted above, one of my main projects will be breathe & de-stress, but what I am really excited about is that I will be running three (possibly even four) retreats next year, which is something I have always wanted to do. Fairlie and I will be going back to Turkey TWICE, and Eden and I are offering a lovely weekend retreat in Surrey in April. And stay tuned for a possible 'Yoga City Break' to Lisbon!
The only thing left for me to say is:
I look forward to seeing you on the mat in 2014!
On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate the stress levels in your life? Follow the blog series by the wonderful Amatsu therapist Lorna Clansey this month, looking into the various aspects of stress and how to deal with it better. Thank you Lorna for inviting me to contribute :)

Wonderful memories from our retreat at Suleyman's Garden in Turkey this July. Have a look at some photos, listen to flute-playing and read a very special poem by one of our participants....
From literature, theatre, visual arts and dance to feasting, gardening, mindfulness and yoga, NOW Festival 2013 (August 8-11) allows you to 'Disconnect, Stop & Reconnect'.
They have a great lineup celebrating Carpe Diem at Wilderness Festival and amongst all the great activities and performances, I have been invited to teach a yoga session each afternoon. And when I am not busy enjoying the rest of the festivities, I will be offering a few Thai Yoga Massage tasters.
Check out the festival pages for more info - http://www.nowfestival.org/wilderness/
To start with, I just need to explain that on a yoga teacher's job description, pretty far at the top, you will find 'flyering'. Oh yes - flyering! We constantly run 'round promoting our classes and workshops, and I think it is only fair to say that I have always hated flyering. It's simply not something I fancy doing in my spare time. It actually has to go into my diary as a fixed appointment if I want any flyers to go anywhere.
So sometimes, when I'm not on the yoga mat, I find a little time to ponder over all things yoga, and every so often it so happens that I also write down my ponderings...
